Fábafém Ipari és Kereskedelmi Kft. was founded in 1993 as Fábafém Bt. by two private entrepreneurs, János Machó and Pál Vladár, combining their business partners and technical equipment. The name was chosen from their main activity at the time, as the primary profile was the production of furniture fittings, meaning they manufactured (FÉM) metal components for wood (FÁBA). We became increasingly well-known in the furniture industry, and our precise and high-quality deliveries laid the foundation for our success.
However over the past 30 years, by taking advantage of market opportunities and the weakening of the domestic furniture industry, our scope of activities has significantly expanded and transformed. We are now mainly suppliers to the electronics, pneumatics, building engineering, and automotive industries.

In our developments, we have strived to create opportunities for large-scale machined parts production, which is why we purchased several CNC-controlled lathes. As a result, our revenue has continuously increased, allowing us to build three separate new modern production halls in three stages, providing us with nearly 4000 m² of manufacturing space.
Our workforce, approaching 100 employees, operates in a three-shift system. Thanks to our continuous developments, our production portfolio has also expanded, and we are capable of working with larger parts than the previous diameter range of 42mm. We have 40 CNC long lathes, CNC machining centers, centerless through-feed grinders, we apply Industry 4.0 solutions, operate digitalized production, use robotics, and manufacture special-purpose machines as needed.
In 2001, we obtained ISO 9001 certification, which we further expanded with ISO 14001 certification in 2022.
A generational change has taken place in our company, and the owners currently support the work of their younger family members from the background.

Third plant hall
The growth of our customer base - especially with the arrival of Emerson - and the development of our existing partners is a continuous source of motivation for us. Over 12 years, we have built our third production hall. The current one is approximately 1100 square meters, intended for increasing production capacity . With this, our total production area has grown to nearly 4000 square meters.
Generation change

During the generational change in the company, the two founding owners have stepped back to focus on strategic decisions. The daily operational tasks are now handled by the younger generation of the family, ensuring the dynamic and modern development of the company.
Second plant hall
The development at the new site reached unexpected proportions and just three years after the handover of the first production hall, it became necessary to expand it. Thus, in 2014, a second production hall of about 850m2 was added. Initially, the factory building was intended to be a warehouse, but it soon became a production facility.
New facility with one factory hall
We outgrew our downtown site, which we had purchased in two phases, and there was no possibility for further development. So, in the midst of the economic crisis of 2008-2009, we took a bold step. We designed and successfully applied for the construction of a new 1650 square meter production hall on our new 2-hectare site on the outskirts of the city, with the project being executed by our family.
Entry into the building engineering industry
We have been key suppliers in the building engineering sector for 20 years, specifically in the area of metal components required for faucet cartridges. Our main customer is KEROX, a globally recognized cartridge manufacturer. Our relationship is ongoing, and we produce around 180 different types of components for them.
Entry into the automotive industry
During our large-scale supply of machined parts, we became increasingly well-known, which led Hirschmann Car Communication Kft. to approach us. They manufacture antennas, with 90% of their production going to the automotive industry. We produced and continue to produce the connector elements for their roof antennas in millions of units.
Second Facility
Thanks to stable growth and continuous development, it became necessary and feasible to purchase the entire building complex of a former factory, which we had previously owned half of. This expansion added a second site.
First CNC lathe
By this time, our company had already established the direction we wanted to represent in the machining industry, which was the production of large series of turned parts. We started with Skoda A20b type mechanical semi-automatic lathes. Then, in 1998, came the breakthrough when we purchased our first new SIMTRA-manufactured CNC machine.
First Facility
After the workshops at the family houses proved to be too small, in 1995, Fábafém Bt. purchased a smaller part of a former factory building at an auction, thus creating its first independent site. The building was approximately 250 square meters, where the various production departments could already be separated.

Two former colleagues and friends, János Machó and Pál Vladár, founded Fábafém Bt. on October 20, 1993, in Mezőberény. The company's name originated from their supply to the furniture industry: they manufactured metal (FÉM) components for wood (FÁBA). Initially, the 'factory' was at their family homes, where 2-4 employees worked.
